I have worked as a journalist, editor and publisher within the financial services industry for the past ten years. I started my career in a small newsletter company as a staff writer, progressed to editor and eventually managing editor of 6 titles. In 1997 I was appointed Senior Commissioning Editor for the Insurance and Banking Division of Financial Times Business and became Publisher of the division in November 1998. The role of Publisher involved project development, managing a team of 15 staff and a budget of over £2 million.
FT Business' insurance and banking division was sold to Informa Publishing in January 2000 and I was made redundant.
I have been freelance since February 2000 and have worked on a range of publications and projects, including Banking Technology magazine, Insurance Technology magazine, writing for PR companies, writing a business plan for a proposed technology magazine and the personal finance pages of ITV's Teletext service.
I also edit a call centre newsletter and a financial services distribution newsletter on a monthly contract basis.
I have significant editorial and commercial experience, gained from the various roles I have worked in during the past ten years.
