Educated near London with a degree in Sociology from the University of Essex, Jane is an experienced freelance writer on financial, technology and business issues.
As a subeditor-translator for news agencies in London including Efe, the Spanish News Agency, Interpress and Gemini News Service Jane wrote a series of articles on Latin American politics, business and the oil industry and travelled as a correspondent for the Sunday Times, The Guardian, and Lloyds List among others.
Jane then focussed on property and financial investments in the UK and worked with the Inland Revenue Staff Federation (sponsored MP Gordon Brown), The Teacher (article on pensions attached) and wrote for the London Stock Exchange on their market monitoring system (text below). She also edited reports for the Institute of Social Studies in the Hague and for Barclays Bank.
Jane left England in 1993 and followed a course in international law. She stayed in France, Monaco, Italy and Switzerland before taking up permanent residence in Switzerland where she now lives and works.
Jane uses Apple Mac computers with QuarkXpress, Pagemaker and Photoshop and does basic website development. She has developed and written websites, magazines and newsletters.
Her interests include tennis, gardening and classical music. As a result of the latter she founded an opera organization in London in 2001 and now runs MCM London Ltd which organizes music programmes in Europe - such as the Gstaad Music Promenade and piano recitals where she records both sound and images.
