|Full name||Mark Leftly|
I am currently the deputy business editor at The Independent on Sunday, though I am available for freelance work provided it is not a conflict of interest with the newspaper. I can cover any area of business and have extensive experience freelancing in diverse sectors including insurance, design, construction, property, corporate communications and telecommunications. My background was in trade publications where I typically covered the public sector, so I am happy to write about anything from PFI to major government issues like health and education. I have also contributed to the travel, sport, home news and foreign sections of the IoS, so have the experience to turn my hand to publications and issues far outside of business and the public sector.

I have been at the Independent on Sunday since March 2008 and since June last year I have been the deputy business editor. I cover a range of sectors, including industry, natural resources, private equity, banking and leisure.
Immediately before that I was the business correspondent at The Business, the now defunct sister publication of Spectator.
Between 2001 and 2007 I was at Building magazine, latterly as an assistant editor. I won numerous construction press awards, but most significantly was named business magazine journalist of the year at the Press Gazette awards for my investigative journalism.
I started at Property Week`s online desk when I graduated from university in 2000.
I have freelanced for the likes of Insurance Times, Global Reinsurance, UKTI/Economist Intelligence Unit, Best Practice, Ethical Performance, Director of Finance, CorpComms and Local Government Chronicle.
