A hard working, creative and dynamic individual with 7 years experience in the Media industry working both on print and online content.

I have been working within the media since my final year at uni and have worked my way up from freelance features writing to night editor for The Sun’s record-breaking Bizarre online section. During my time as a reporter/sub-editor for the site I was credited with helping the Sun Online to be the first UK newspaper website to break the news of Michael Jackson's heart attack and subsequent death. I also wrote Bizarre’s most popular online story, which achieved more than 1 million hits in a week. As well as this I have traveled to the Isle Of Wight to report on the music festival, interviewed celebrities and written numerous stories for the site, some of which have been published in the newspaper. I have also assisted with breaking news stories – making sure they go up onto the site as quickly as possible: i.e. the shock death of Heath Ledger, and the Glasgow airport terror attack.

I relish new challenges and picking up new skills, hence my move from the Daily Sport’s newsdesk to The Sun’s online department. While at The Daily Sport as a News Reporter I was the first person on the newsdesk to utilise social networking sites as a means of creating stories and building a list of contacts. I also initiated, and subsequently edited, a computer games column which was very popular amongst the newspaper’s readership. As sole Features Editor for the company’s monthly men’s magazine I took on the challenge of producing around 70-80% of the magazine’s editorial content on my own. This included most of the features, reviews, interviews, the entire front section, and monthly photoshoots.

As well as my full-time jobs I have freelanced for other publications as often as I can, including a short-term stint at Channel 4 on their Bite microsite, sponsored by Ford, for which I was the Content Producer and features for men's publications Zoo, Nuts, Ice and, most recently, Belgian magazine The Word.
