Music, theatre, art, travel, social issues, hard news and politics, for national newspapers and magazines (The Independent, Observer, Guardian, Sunday Mirror, Metro, Record Collector etc), as well as miscellaneous US publications and websites, and have an incisive style with plenty of colour and passion. I can also sub, and am up for copywriting, depending on subject and company. I generally cover the South Wales, West and Midlands regions when it comes to reviews, but can go anywhere.

I have lots of experience in journalism, working my way up from a trainee reporter in west Wales to writing freelance for the Guardian, Observer, Independent, Sunday Mirror, Metro, MSN Travel and various magazines and websites. My specialist areas are music (pop, rock, jazz, theatre, social issues and travel. I've got my own style that strives to avoid the predictable and lame and goes for colour, intrigue and energy, and I can tailor my style to fit various styles and formats.
I have had some experience in writing for PR too. Living out in the sticks rather than the city - though work often brings me to London and other cities - gives me an unfettered outlook and space to be creative.
While I respond to contemporaneous events, themes and reportage, I resist running with the rest of the media pack.
