Dave Willis is one of the leading outdoor sport and leisure photographers in the UK and has been listed as one of the Worlds best outdoor pursuits photographers. Specialising in adrenaline sports like rock climbing, mountain biking, mountaineering, Dave is based in the English Lake District where he is a principle freelance contributor to Cumbria Tourism, the Lake District National Park Authority and the National Trust. Clients include Paramo Directional Clothing, Cotswold Outdoors and OMM as well as all major outdoor publications. He is also a contributing photographer to a number of international picture libraries. Dave is also an accomplished writer and combines his photography with writing to provide illustrated feature articles to a wide variety of media publications and outlets.

Dave Willis started out as a teenager selling feature pictures to his local newspapers and county magazines whilst working behind a bar. He moved on to work as an assistant photographer in a general studio and then joined a northern press agency covering the North of England for national papers. He spent a year working as an expedition photographer in Patagonia before returning to the UK and setting up Mountain Sport Photography in 1990. This wide ranging experience has enabled Dave to tackle assignments all over the World on just about any subject no matter how inaccessible. Dave Willis is also a qualified outdoor instructor with experience in mountain rescue - so not your average snapper!
