Michael Calvin is an award-winning sportswriter, who developed a secondary career in the rapidly-evolving world of performance sport.
Calvin established a global reputation during a twelve year spell as Chief Sportswriter on the Daily Telegraph. He held similar positions at The Times and Mail on Sunday. A former Sportswriter of the Year, he was twice named Sports Reporter of the Year and was honoured at the British Press awards on five other occasions. He worked in more than 70 countries, covering every major sports event and such seminal news events as the release of Nelson Mandela.
Before establishing Integr8 Communications, his consultancy, in October 2006, he spent five years as Deputy Director of the English Institute of Sport, overseeing its evolution into a strategically significant organisation with more than 200 employees. In his dual role of Head of Communications, he delivered a highly successful integrated strategy. He is regarded as an innovative thinker with key strengths in external and internal communications, political and media liaison, brand development and people management.
