I became a journalist in 1970 working for a photographic trade association producing its weekly and monthly publications. I subsequently launched and edited various publications in the photographic and imaging industry, including such magazines as 'Dealerama', 'Photo Chemist', and 'Photo Imaging Marketing', and later 'Minilab Developments', as well as producing newsletters, yearbooks and exhibition newspapers.
I went on to edit 'Gun Mart' and then 'Combat & Militaria' for Aceville Publishing before setting up and running a magazine publishing subsidiary in Brighton for the company, and was launch editor of its ‘Making Money’ magazine while also editing other titles.
I edited the Journal of the Chartered Institute of Journalists, and for many years produced a divisional newsletter.
I was a freelance contributor to numerous magazines, including 'Menswear' (part of 'Drapers’ Record'), 'Chemist & Druggist', 'Master Photographer', 'BPI News' and Pharmaceutical Association publications, as well as copywriting for brochures and marketing literature for overseas property agencies.
In 2000 I became editor of ‘Panorama’, a professional photographic and digital imaging industry magazine (which I once owned). I held this position for six years, in which time I developed it into a leading publication for the entire photographic and digital imaging industry.
Since then I have been producing copy for a PR consultancy while also contributing to various trade titles.
