Biography

I am an author and highly experienced freelance journalist, copywriter and content manager. I have written two books, We're British, Innnit, which is published by Collins and A Fête Worse Than Death on Headline. I am an expert on Britishness and Englishness and appear regularly on radio and TV discussing these. I also write lengthy features for the Telegraph magazine and features on the arts for the Guardian and the Times. Many of these are featured on my website.

My features for the Guardian have been chosen by readers as their favourites for the last three years running. I have an eye for the quirky and am often called upon to explain complex or new topics to mainstream audience from a position of knowledge. I am London editor of US architectural title Dwell. I have also undertaken copywriting, content management, PR and SEO writing work for various high profile and artistic clients, a list is available on request. I have also undertaken writing and directing video for clients, as well as engaging with customers on social media.

I write about art as well as being involved in writing essays and biographies for artists. I have a particular interest in the fashions and culture of youth subcultures and recently had an exhibition of my photography of these groups at Turner Contemporary, Margate as well as undertaking engagements to speak to young people and academics about the subject.

I have experience as a content manager, copywriter, SEO writer and content strategist. I work as an ideas consultant and provide disruptive thinking and ideas for content management to various businesses, for PR, advertising and product development.
