Laura graduated in Multi-Media Journalism from Bournemouth University and is currently proving herself to be an enthusiastic and tenacious young journalist as she builds her profile within the media industry.
Passionate and self-motivated, she works hard to unearth new ideas and has previously written for a diverse range of print and online media. She has spent a rainy night out on the streets with a Street Pastor team, accompanied a male model dressed as Colonel Condom around different towns for Love It! magazine’s sexual health campaign and spent a week road-testing the Maple Syrup crash diet, all in the name of features research!
Additionally, having trained in broadcast journalism Laura is also capable of researching, writing, scripting and producing short documentaries or news stories and is as much at home onscreen presenting as she is off screen.
Dedicated to honing her skills and experience, Laura has keenly undertaken various magazine, newspaper and TV placements including ITV’s This Morning, ITV Fixers and BBC Blast as well as any other media opportunity that has come her way. She has also showed initiative in creating her own opportunities, leading video journalism projects with youth centres, doing voluntary press work for the children’s charity, Post Pals, and undertaking press duties in her role as Production Assistant for High Gain Promotions, which specialises in live events, corporate and private hires.
Her ability to generate interesting features has been proven with commissions from national magazines, Bliss, Love It! and Company, the online student website, 100 Voices and online magazines, Girlie Gossip and Fifty Magazine.
Laura is always looking for new commissions and is particularly interested in real-life, lifestyle and entertainment features. She is also very keen to hear of any TV opportunities as she would ultimately like to end up as a researcher, discovering unique contributors for programmes and investigating exciting stories.
Friendly and confident when meeting people of any age and background, Laura genuinely enjoys hearing people’s stories and whether working for print or broadcast, taking these stories and telling them in the most compelling way she can is what drives her. Always looking to produce best quality content, she sets herself high standards and constantly strives to achieve them.
When she’s not writing or got her nose in a book, Laura enjoys watching television, singing, catching up with friends, shopping, the cinema, theatre, daydreaming and drinking an unhealthy amount of tea!
Laura is available for commissions immediately.
