I began writing professionally when I interned for 'Discover India', a travel magazine part of the Media Transasia Syndicate at seventeen. During my internship, I researched and developed their entire news section, and was given the freedom to conduct interviews. This developed when I interned with 'The Hindu', a national newspaper, where I worked on the Pakistan-India conflict with Kashmir, and got the chance to research and write my own news story.
I got involved with campus media as soon as I began my degree at the University of York. I was Deputy Website Editor of Nouse, an award-winning publication, which involved keeping the website constantly updated, whilst writing for their news, comment and arts sections. I have also written for York Vision, The Zahir, The Lemon Press and The Yorkling. I am also editor of RAG Magazine, a charitable magazine which promotes the work of the 'Raising and Giving' society at York.
I also interned with the United Nations which has given me a broader understanding of human rights and development issues, which can now feed into my writing.
