I am a Spanish-based professional journalist from Italy, with a background in African studies and a personal drive towards human rights and development issues. I have an international experience as both a journalist and an academic researcher and I am in search of new challenges to further develop my skills and knowledge. I am also a blogger for the European Journalism Center’s online platform on international development TH!NK3 (www.thinkaboutit.eu)
I graduated in a post-degree school of journalism in Milan (Italy) and am hence qualified to work as a professional journalist. I have worked for international news agencies (both TV and text) such as Reuters and The Associated Press in South Africa, Italy and France and am currently working as a correspondent on international development topics in Barcelona, Spain, for the news service of Washington-based Development Executive Group (Devex) as well as a correspondent for U.S. news website Provoices (www.allvoices.com).
I hold a Ph.D. in African Issues with a thesis on press freedom in South Africa and completed a post-doctoral research project on African media and coverage of African news by European and U.S. media.
I am fluent in English, Spanish and French (apart from my native Italian) and am quite willing to travel and work in different environments.
