I have 12 years of journalism under my belt, during which time I've worked in-house for consumer magazines with a technical bias, mostly specialising in photography and video imaging.
In addition, I have received freelance commissions from The Guardian, The Daily Express and The Sun, as well as numerous national magazines, which include Professional Photographer, Photography Monthly and Foto8. And I can lay claim to being the person responsible for writing the in-box 'how to' guides each time you purchase a new camera from Jessops!
I've covered a broad range of subjects – from health to news and current affairs – though my specialist genre is photography. I've written and published four hardback books about the subject: one with a political bias (Photojournalism, 2005), while the other three are technique guides (Sports & Action Photography, 2006; Travel & Nature Photography, 2007; and Celebrity & Performance Photography, 2008). I am currently writing a fifth, this time with a political agenda.
Currently, I teach photography part-time on behalf of Essex County Council, and I write advertising media for a number of corporate clients.
