Todd R. Brown
|Full name||Todd R. Brown|
My strong suit is authoring ethnic community and lifestyle features. I've written about Afghan, Indian, Filipino and Sufi groups and reported on hip-hop crews and glasswork artists. I've illuminated school district sex-education battles and regional sprawl development debates. I can craft quick city council articles on deadline and finesse long-term enterprise stories. I'm adept at synthesizing complex business matters and bringing both real world and analytic perspectives to stories on our economic ups and downs.

I'm a California-based journalist. I've edited and written for newspapers such as the The Business Journal, the Oakland Tribune and the San Jose Mercury News; magazines such as VIP Guide Miami and the Baton Rouge Business Report; and websites such as PaloAltoOnline and AllAboutJazz. I have nearly 20 years' experience as a reporter, editor, page designer and photographer. I started out publishing a 'zine, worked my way into freelance reporting, earned a Master's degree from Medill at Northwestern University and, along the way, became a full-time journalist, staff writer and on the go editor.
