Ben Clatworthy is a freelance broadcaster and journalist, specialising in skiing, travel and adventure sports. Born in 1992 and educated at Clifton College in Bristol, Ben is widely regarded as the youngest professional travel journalist in the UK.
Last year, Ben was announced as the winner of Youth Journalism International’s 2011 Excellence in Journalism Awards in the ‘Sports Features’ category. The awards honoured students in 16 different countries, with two winners in England.
Ben attended Clifton College for 11 years, leaving in July 2011 with four A-Levels in English Literature, Geography, Politics and Economics.
Recently, Ben spent two series working as the researcher for BBC Inside Out West, a weekly current affairs programme for BBC One West. Whilst at the BBC he also worked on a number of half hour specials for both BBC One and BBC Four.
Ben also has a special interested in education, especially for disabled children. He has been interviewed on the BBC News Channel, and reported for BBC Points West on the provisions available for disabled children in Bristol.
Ben has written hundreds of articles over the past five years for a range of different magazines, websites and newspapers. These include The Times, Outdoor Fitness, Monarch Explorer, PlanetSKI.eu, First Eleven and Vertical Drop magazines. He is also the news editor for InTheSnow, the UK’s most read free ski magazine.
