One of the most respected and experienced technology business journalists in the
UK, Simon Meredith has worked as a business and technology writer since 1984. After an initial spell on a monthly business magazine called MicroDecision, he
worked on the UK launch PC Dealer in 1986. Simon was Editor of PC
Dealer for three years, establishing the paper as the leading business
weekly for computer resellers in the UK. The paper was later
published in a number of European countries.
Today Simon works as a freelance ICT industry journalist and media
consultant. He has contributed to a great number of business and computing
titles and continued to work closely with successive editors and with the senior management of VNU and Incisive Media on the development of its channel titles.
In 1999, he worked closely with VNU as it bought the UK edition of Computer Reseller News (CRN) and subsequently merged CRN and PC Dealer into a single newspaper.
Simon continued to work with VNU's senior editorial and publishing staff on various titles and projects until the UK operation was bought by Incisive Media in 2007. He remains closely aligned to CRN and its activities, acting as a Consulting Editor, occasionally chairing events on behalf of the magazine, and advising on and acting as a judge for the UK Channel Awards.
Through Meredith Media Services, Simon undertakes consultancy and copy-writing projects for technology industry companies - and especially those that are looking to drive higher visibility in the channel and closer engagement with partners.
These activities bring him into close and regular contact with leading IT industry vendors, distributors, resellers, analysts, influencers and media people.
