Rose Crompton graduated with a 2.1 degree in Writing For Media Arts from London South Bank University. Upon successful completion of a month-long internship, Rose spent her first year after graduation working as staff writer for Scarlet magazine. Within a short amount of time she was pitching, writing and commissioning four regular sections of the magazine including health and beauty, reader’s letters and reviews. It was her passion for contributing to the raunchier side of Scarlet, however, that really fired up her imagination. Penning open-minded sex and relationship features and interviewing an array of kinky characters, Rose soon realised her niche.
After working for Scarlet, Rose went on to become sole staff writer/editor of e-zine Harlot - a spin-off from Scarlet, but with the extra freedoms of being on the Internet. Published weekly and emailed to around 20,000 recipients with a further 3,000 hits per week through the website, Rose found it both challenging and exciting to be taking on such a project only a year into her journalistic career.
Since then, Rose has set herself up as a freelance writer and has contributed features to Forum, Escort, Adult Sport, Zoo and Cosmopolitan magazine and writes regularly for Cliterati.co.uk. She’s also offered comment to The Leicester Mercury, student publications and female lifestyle websites on women, porn and sex. More recently she’s been copywriting and blogging for online retailer and adult brand, HarmonyStore.
But it’s not all about the adult content! Enjoying a range of writing topics, Rose also contributes to online gardening magazine, The City Planter, and writes a regular column for Adventure Bike Rider – motorbikes not cycles – which has led her to interview some of the worlds greatest bikers, including 007 stunt co-ordinator, Gary Powell. The time spent as Health & Beauty writer for Scarlet also left its mark, as Rose looks forward to an exciting, upcoming project where she will get to return to this role for a new magazine.
Only three years into her freelance journalistic career, Rose is an innovative young writer with her sights set on even higher goals for the upcoming years. If you would like to get in touch with her in regards to commissions, please email firstname.lastname@example.org
