Award-winning UK-based freelance writer, editor, blogger and researcher of non-fiction articles for online and print media. I specialise in the fields of health, parenting, homes and property, lifestyle and travel, although also frequently cover other areas too, as I enjoy the variety.
I write for a wide range of publications in the UK and internationally, including Bupa, Baby Centre, PrimeLocation.com, International Property: Luxury Collection, Period Ideas, Living Abroad, Buying Abroad, Channel 4, Shell, BBC, EuropeUpClose, Internet Genealogy, Baby Hampshire, Baby Surrey, Baby London and The Market. Blogging forms a large part of my work and I do a lot of regular pro-blogging for various companies, on topics such as travel, health, interiors, property and crafts.
I also run and edit a couple of my own homes and interiors blogs. Fresh Design Blog (www.freshdesignblog.com) focuses on contemporary and modern home and garden products and ideas and Cosy Home Blog (www.cosyhomeblog.com) has a focus on shabby chic, traditional and vintage interiors. The blogs are updated daily and Fresh Design Blog, which was included as one of Cision's Top 10 Interior Design Blogs in Jan 2011 and October 2012, has over 25,000 unique readers per month.
As far as editing goes, I wrote and edited the Buying Abroad foreign property supplement (distributed with the Sunday Telegraph and Telegraph), was editor of Health Today Magazine and ghost-editor of a parenting magazine. I've also written and edited several non-fiction books on health, parenting and fitness topics - "Running," published by Parragon, was released in the US in April 2008 and Skin Cancer and Sun Safety: The Essential Guide was published in the UK in June 2010.
I won the online journalism award in the 2004 Medical Journalism Awards (Norwich Union Healthcare / Medical Journalists' Association).
