I’m a writer and editor. I help people to share ideas, tell stories and make connections.
Over the last 20 years I’ve worked with business leaders and school children, charities and scientists, Oxbridge professors and people I’ve met in the street.
I’m rather good at:
* Using simple, clear words to inform, inspire, engage and entertain
* Writing great words to tight deadlines
* Making complicated things easy to understand
* Making “boring” topics remarkably interesting
* Teaching business people and academics how to use language like normal humans
* Facilitating meetings and conferences
Feature articles, advertising, opinion pieces, web copy, presentations, tone of voice guides, video scripts, brochures, case studies, interviews, press releases, Tweets, surveys, white papers, short stories – anything with words.
I like to work with people who believe that words matter, and with those who are willing to be persuaded.
I like it when...
My words make people think, or laugh, or nod their heads in agreement, or cry, or want to jump up and do something. (And when the writing gods smile on me, my words do all those things at the same time.)
I’ve worked with...
The Design Council, World Economic Forum, The Economist Intelligence Unit, Ernst & Young, PricewaterhouseCoopers, KPMG, Deloitte, Accenture, untold professors and academics, Microsoft, Takeda Pharmaceutical, the International Bar Association, SAP, Dell, SAS, FedEx and others.
My words have been in...
The Economist, Economist Intelligence Unit, The Independent, Sunday Business, Director, World Finance, New Economy, Internal Auditor, International Bar News, Accountancy Age, Accountancy, Euromoney, Financial Director, CFO Europe, The Lawyer, Business 2.0 and many, many others – even Vogue.
