Olivia retrained in journalism in 2009, after successful careers in catering and English teaching. She has publishing credits in a variety of outlets including The Daily Express, the Daily Mail,The Independent, National Geographic Traveller, Sphere magazine and the inflight Morning Calm, as well as for numerous other publications and websites. She completed her NCTJ in sub-editing in January 2013 in preparation for editorship of new luxury travel website Travel de la Creme that soft-launched in March 2014.
